Why boat trailers need reflective tape

Boat trailers ride low, extend behind the tow vehicle, and are often moved at dawn and dusk. DOT-C2 rated tape returns headlight glare from hundreds of feet, marking the full length and rear of the trailer. Trailers over 2.05 m wide or with heavier GVWR classes may be required to carry conspicuity treatment; for most boat trailers this is the single best voluntary safety upgrade.
